SSW clients which do not have access to data locally may incorporate the desired SP science data summarized on this page into your current sswidl session via verbatim cut&paste of any of the corresponding orange sswidl commands. The commands will transfer the corresponding Level2 data, either as local files or directly into an sswidl memory object for immediate analysis. No local data or catalogs are required, but in order to use these commands, an sswidl session with an up to date Hinode-SOT branch and decent internet connection is required.

The three verbatim options currently implemented for Level 2 data include:

This command transfers the Level2 binary extended fits file, and then reads them into local sswidl session variables; following this operation, the 36 SP components in index,data are available to general purpose SSW software, such as the plot_map suite by Zarro et.al.

The next two commands transfer the corresponding Level 2 science data to the local sswidl client machine. As per the SP Level1/Level1d procedures, output target subdirectories are created which inherit the name of the SP Mapid for data management. An optional parent directory may be specified by keyword in the sotsp_getdata call - the two available file formats are a single, binary extended FITS file with all SP Level2 components (ssw routine read_sotsp) and the NetCDF output of the Merlin package.
